 Last week the board decided to try a three month experiment with some new
 technologies (that members have used on other projects).

 - To replace email voting --> Loomio (Anita has already set up
 https://www.loomio.org/g/kdSmIwxu/osgeo-board )
 - To replace IRC ---> gitter (like slack but more integrated with github)

 From email discussion on SAC:

 * OSGeo does have a git repo here (https://github.com/osgeo)
 * OSGeo already has some rooms here: https://gitter.im/orgs/OSGeo/rooms
 * The discussion got into free vs open tools ...
