[SAC] New Staging Website configs

Jeffrey,

We'll check out the error log issue.

I confirmed I can see all the admin pieces now when I log in.

I've cc'd SAC so they are all aware of status of staging.www.osgeo.org server

Thanks,

Regina

Hi Regina,

The last config changes needed for the SSL are done. I also made your account administrator.

I disabled the custom error and access logs in /etc/apache2/sites-available/www.osgeo.org-common.conf, somehow this isn't working anymore.

If this is enabled I'm unable to restart the apache without errors (apache error log):

[Mon Nov 20 09:23:30.726905 2017] [mpm_prefork:notice] [pid 20226] AH00169: caught SIGTERM, shutting down

error: cannot stat /var/www/osgeo.org/logs/error.log.%Y-%m-%d-%H_%M_%S <http://osgeo.org/logs/error.log.%25Y-%25m-%25d-%25H_%25M_%25S> : No such file or directory

error: cannot stat /var/www/osgeo.org/logs/access.log.%Y-%m-%d-%H_%M_%S <http://osgeo.org/logs/access.log.%25Y-%25m-%25d-%25H_%25M_%25S> : No such file or directory

We usually do our WordPress and plugin updates not in a production environment but in a separate staging environment, that's why it's disabled by default.

You can enable updates in /var/www/osgeo.org/httpdocs/config.php by setting $pluginAndThemeEditor and $pluginAndThemeUpdateAndInstallation to true.

Best regards,

Jeffrey Lasut

Jeff,

I have SSL in place now with let's encrypt

https://staging.www.osgeo.org

I had to muck with the /etc/apache2 files to allow ./well-known to be accessed so that letsencrypt could approve the cert

and to follow strk's example from other server he set up, the new ssl site I setup and the old, I move all the common conf settings into www.osgeo.org-common.conf <http://www.osgeo.org-common.conf>

Also can you make my wordpress account have admin access to be able to change things like the default url and upgrade plugins and Worpress install.

Thanks,

Regina

Hi guys,

Please let me know when SSL is installed. I'll have to do some config work on the site to make this work.

Great, thank you. Next we want https working (with letsencrypt), and any
http redirected to https.
