 Planet has informed us that they would like to retire blog.geoserver.org
 (which is a wordpress instance ... actually hosted on Wordpress).

 I know we are running osgeo.org on wordpress, have we learned enough to
 feel comfortable hosting an additional site (or should we make plans to
 migrate content to GitHub pages).
