OGC does not modify the Sponsors logo.
OSGeo modifies the sponsors logo as the logo that is given by the sponsor
has colors.
In the link above, it does not mention that their logo will be converted
to gray scale.
Did a consultation to the sponsor's branding guide for the gray change was
made?
We have our branding guide: https://www.osgeo.org/about/branding-material/
and as far as I remember (I have to use my memory because the link to the
pdf, is not working) we have a section for what exact grays must be used
in our logo.
If someone needs to use the gray scale of our logo, do we expect them to
use our branding guide or just make the automatic change like we are doing
with the sponsors logo.
I can see that OGC solved a problem of scalability with the moving logos,
so if I am a sponsor, and I want to check that my logo is in OGC:
Without refreshing a page I see the logo with the original colors, just a
matter of time for it to show up.
We solved the problem of scalability with only 5 random logos showing, so
if I am a sponsor and I want to check that my logo is as promised on the
bottom of the page:
I need to refresh the page many times maybe I get lucky to see my logo,
and when I see my logo it has been changed to black and white it is not
the logo I sent.
My point:
* the sponsors benefits do not mention gray scale on the bottom of the
page.
* The sponsors benefits mention that their logo will be on the bottom of
the page and that might not happen, because only 5 logos appear at a given
time.
