Comment:

 Some progress with darkblue and Juan troubleshooting:

 - nexus itself is okay, going onto the machine and accessing via
 localhost:8081 downloads content without issue
 - nginx (osgeo3-nginx) configuration is likely introduced a size limit
 affecting routing to nexus
