 I don't know what your mx query returned, but sure discourse.osgeo.org is
 an alias for web.osgeo9.osgeo.org, but the mx record for
 discourse.osgeo.org is NOT discourse.osgeo.org, it's meet.osgeo.org.  I
 assume your mail is working just fine cause your mail to discourse made it
 thru.

 When I use nslookup, this is what I get

 meet.osgeo.osuosl.org
