Hosted projects,

I am reaching out to share an important initiative led by Professor Anita
Sarma [1] from Oregon State University. The project aims to recognize and
acknowledge "glue work" in Free and Open Source Software projects. Glue
work includes essential tasks such as mentoring, maintenance code, bug
fixing, and documentation, which are critical to the health of FOSS
projects but often go unrecognized.

Professor Sarma has a distinguished history of contributions to the FOSS
community. Her work includes projects like Palantír, which raises awareness
among configuration management workspaces [2], and Tesseract, an
interactive visual exploration tool for socio-technical relationships in
software development [2]. She has also focused on making FOSS more
inclusive by identifying errors in user interaction design [3].

To better understand where glue work can be traced and how it can be
appropriately acknowledged, a survey has been designed. Your participation
in this survey would be incredibly valuable. It takes just *5 minutes* to
complete and will help spotlight the full spectrum of contributions that
keep our FOSS projects thriving.

Please take a moment to fill out the survey and share your insights:

Thank you for your time and contribution to this important effort. Please
let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Thanks!
