OSUOSL move priorities

Just a clarification of where our priorities are.

As discussed about a month ago with Lance. We need to get our servers ready
for migration to the new data center and get rid of old servers we no longer
need.

What we had decided to do was this:

1) Containerize osgeo6 on osgeo9, which I feel Vicky is 90% there, but needs
more testing
2) Shutdown osgeo5 (aka backup.osgeo.osuosl.org) cause all it's doing right
now is backing up osgeo6 which isn't needed anymore since it is being
rsynched and snapshotted on osgeo9 and osgeo7 already
2) Get new discs for osgeo6 server, current and reformat it to be an lxd or
incus host
3) We need to decide if we will be keeping osgeo3 / osgeo4 at least thru the
move. Ideally we wanted to get rid of these and put everything that is
there on osgeo6, osgeo7, osgeo8, osgeo9 but given we are so behind on
osgeo6, I think sadly this is not an option right now.

Strk,

I know you are all gun ho about ansible, but ansible right now is causing us
grief. It's slowing Vicky's work 10 fold because she's having to learn
ansible commands equivalent of general OS commands at the same time as she's
trying to get all the pieces of osgeo6 working.
I'm not saying ansible should go, it will be great for standardization and
that is important. I just feel like right now it's slowing us down.

I'd rather focus on standardization stuff after the move, cause there might
be more stuff to standardize at that point too. Even better you right up a
grand standardization manifesto before we act on it.

Thanks,
Regina
