Maciek,

No, I wasn't expecting to fix it.  The problem is I have to address complex
type issues (64bit types) in shapelib to fix it, which basically means I
need to move Shapelib to autoconf and friends.  A substantial transition.

If someone is interested in taking on shapelib co-maintainership and address
this I'd seriously consider it.
