[Shapelib] shapelib vector output inverted?

Hi,
I'm having problems with using the shapelib in that it creates the shp 
vector file inverted.
The input file is just two ships and the image_vector.png is the output. 
It's suppose to show the boxes in the position of the ships. It shows 
the correct dimensions but inverted.
Any ideas?

I'm using these commands:
shpcreate test_ship polygon
shpadd test_ship 1 17 42 17 42 45 1 45
shpadd test_ship 40 82 200 82 200 175 40 175
