I've tried to build it WinXP64 using nmake, both with VC++ 2008 Express
(32 bit) and MS Windows SDK 6.1 (64 bit).
Build was successful, but I was of course unable to run the tests (no
shell available)
I did not try to build contrib, as I don't have OSGeo4W on my box.

PS: the zip still contained the CVS metadata.
