Hello all,

it's a great pleasure to announce that my application has been accepted.
The aim is to build a Python plugin for QGIS containing the most common
home range estimators, calling R via RPy.
Some more info at
http://code.google.com/soc/2008/osgeo/about.html

At the moment this kind of analyses can be run inside R thanks to a
wrapper function, but there is anyway a steep learning curve. With a
menu inside QGIS, the user would use R without any programming skill and
with its advantages.
A plugin in Python seems the easiest way to reach this goal, that's what
I'm going to do this summer.

Hope to make a good job!
