Sorry for the late report, I've been hacking and lost track of the days...

Anyway, after a bit of bug squashing, I've got a running version of the R*Tree and a framework for testing it within OJ. The downside is that it craps out on speed after about 5k features, so next week will be spent with a profiler trying to get the speed comparable to the JTS STRtree.
