[SoC] QGIS on steroids - week #9

Hi all

I have continued with profiling of the vector rendering pipeline. I've
written an RFC for OGR: Set Desired Fields.[1]

Next week I am going to continue with profiling and start committing
things that help the data retrieval and rendering speed.

I am not blocked on anything.
