Hi Jayesh,

in addition of the answers from Luca, Dave and Rashad, I can point you
to the 2013 Ideas page for all OSGeo projects:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2013_Ideas

It contains links to each project's ideas page, and information about
the timeline. Most probably the timeline of 2014 will be similar to
2013, so keep an eye on this list, where OSGeo participation will be
announced.
