[SoC] GSoC Spatial Cypher (Neo4j) Week 1 Report

Hi All -

I am working on a Google Summer of Code project with the goal of integrating Spatial functionality into the Neo4j Cypher query language.

Week 1 report:

What did you get done this week?
  - Brainstorm session with project mentors and Cypher developers for designing cypher syntax specification
  - Learning scala, completed first 3 weeks of Coursera Functional Programming with Scala course
  - Defined development workflow with project mentors
  - Identified intermediate Cypher function for implementation (without use of Spatial index), distance function

What do you plan on doing next week?
  - Compete week 4/5 Scala course projects
  - Implement Cypher distance function
  - Define specific weekly goals for remainder of GSoC
  - Finalize Spatial Cypher syntax specification

Are you blocked on anything?
  - No.
