[Spanish] Re: Osor eu, Sextante translation

Nice to meet you. Lets go with those questions.

Well the main reason is because SEXTANTE, at least the part involving
gvSIG, is also part of our community.

gvSIG is one of the projects under the OSGeo Foundation "hood" and one
of the objectives of OSGeo is to promote Open Source Geospatial
Software.

Having access to case studies is crucial for "spreading the word", and
in this case, as far as we are a Spanish speaking community, we needed
this document to be translated.

Victor Olaya is one of our community leaders, in fact is member of the
Board of Directors of the OSGeo Spanish Language Community Local
Chapter (OSGeo-es), and when we heard about the case study it was
quite natural to pick it as "interesting for translation".

In fact the gvSIG/SEXTANTE combo is one of the big stars of OSGeo-es,
just because both came from the Spanish speaking community, so we
always trend to give "extra time" in our presentations to this
projects.

Almost every bit of information about the use of SEXTANTE at a
governmental level, comes to us from  Victor so I'm afraid we can't
provide very new "news".

On the other hand we're gathering educative materials and preparing
some courses (gvSIG, Geonetwork and Mapserver), it is possible that in
the future we focus our attention in SEXTANTE.

> 3) What do you hope to achieve with the translation?

To help spreading the word, giving examples of open geospatial
software that is being used and promoted by official institutions, is
one of our key initiatives, so though SEXTANTE is not "officially"
part of OSGeo it is quite an inspiring example.
