[sr.org] SHAPEFILE PROJECTIONFINDER

... how long is your request to epsg.io ago? I talked with Petr in Bonn and he said they have big troubles to keep their database updated daily (they are not paid). They use their epsg.io mainly for their customers and by the side everyone can use it, if they want.
I feel they have not time and money to maintain a free open source Service additional to their job?

So we need first a decision by OSGeo to promote a stable service like Aarons with a database for all developers, before wie begin to set up a database or collect data in github?

It must not be epsg.io, but i think they have a good idea searching projection for each country, which is similar to Aarons idea.

I hope you know what i mean?

Manfred

Hi manfred (and others),

That's a good starting point !

But indeed, epsg.io do not answer my change request on their site, about a
projection that seems to be incorrect for @bbrala on proj4. May be I need
to wait a little more, or create a pull request.

Their spatial reference is the same data as proj4, a big file with any defs.
I don't really like it, that why I propose on the main discussion list to
start a git for that.
What do you think of it ?
