Michael, you should have participated in OWS-5!
Imagery workflow was a major topic. You can see some screencasts here: http://www.opengeospatial.org/pub/www/ows5/demo.html
There are some relevant Engineering Reports coming out of the project:
- Georeferencable Imagery ER (JPIP/SOS/WPS/WCS)
- OWS Workflow Architecture
They're not posted to pending documents yet, but will be in a week or
so.
