[OSGeo-Standards] Standards Committee Meeting 27 October 13h UTC

Munich Orientation Convention volksnav at volksnav.de

Hi Tom,

I’d suggest a fundamental discussion about how to implement a standard for:

- easy understandable reference grids instead of only “here” www.volksnav.de/YouAreHere

- imaginable location codes to stop the War of Standards www.volksnav.de/alternatives

This could start with codes for stop points, line codes and line pictograms:

<https://github.com/google/transit/issues/404> https://github.com/google/transit/issues/404 (proposed enrichment of Google’s GTFS standard)

This smart making data for passengers of course has to be open for all and therefore will be in line with the merit principle for intellectual properties.

This could animate anyone to be creative, more than with Buy me a Coffee.

The pictograms base on the circle r100, the main part of the reference grid www.volksnav.de/aSimpleCircle .

This is also proposed to Overture Maps https://github.com/OvertureMaps/schema/discussions/13 .
