[TCMUG] Congressional Research Service April 27, 2012 Report: Issues and Challenges for Federal Geospatial Information

Interesting reading (not really).  I'm pretty leery of moves to consolidate and standardize GIS data at a national or even state level.  I would say it's a solution for which there is no problem, but it isn't even a solution, just a vague idea.  Both documents include, verbatim, the paragraph suggesting Congress 'may consider' 'how a national GIS could be conceived'.  Yikes!
