This is the exact error that I'm thinkign I may have been able to
resolve with the SVN version of TileCache earlier today. A beta of 1.9
is now available from http://tilecache.org/:

  http://tilecache.org/tilecache-1.9.tar.gz
  http://tilecache.org/tilecache-1.9.zip

If you could download 1.9 and report whether the behavior changes, I
would appreciate it.
