[Tilecache] can't find resolution index

maxresolution 'auto' means that the resolution index changes every time
the map size changes -- which, if you have a dynamically sized map,
could be every time the page loads. TileCache obviously can't cope with
that. drop 'auto', make yourself a list, and use that in both places.
