[Tilecache] tilecache 2.01 - INSTALLING TILECACHE - RUNNING UNDER MOD_PYTHON

I am using tilecache 2.01 under Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9.0 apache
2/mod_python successfully, as long as I don't activate metatiling.
W/o metatiles it works without any problems, with metatiles on it does not work
any more but says

An error occurred: Zero length data returned from layer
