[Tilecache] Problem with shields and metaBuffer

Hi,
I'm using Tilecache with Mapnik, and in some shields it breaks the label.

In Mapnik:
...
<ShieldSymbolizer name="routenum" face_name="DejaVu Sans Book"
size="10" fill="#ffffff" placement="line"
file="&root_path;/media/images/map/nw_shield_5_frc_0.png" type="png"
width="42" height="16" min_distance="50" wrap_width="0"/>
...

In my tilecache:
...
size=256,256
metaTile=yes
metaBuffer=100
metaSize=10,10
debug=no
...

I've changed the metaBuffer to 1000 and the problem remains.
Anyone had this problem?
