  I am startled to see that you depend on a custom patched GDAL 1.8  
for your TIFF support...
The LibTIFF symbols issue has been re-worked in GDAL 1.9, and  
packages using GDAL 1.9
have been available for some time..

Please do synch your OTB libraries with GDAL 1.9 !!
