[Ubuntu] gdal 1.9.1 installation

Johan,
uninstall command is not working....

alassane at Achile:~/Downloads/gdal-1.11.1$ sudo make uninstall
make: *** No rule to make target `uninstall'.  Stop.

Any thoughts?
