Summary of meeting

# Casestudy update 

Antony has emailed a proposal for casestudies, please send your comments to Antony. Antony reported that could not find no other OSGeo chapters with case studies.

Newgrove put some case studies up about a year ago, but are happy to update them and reformat them into an OSGEO template.

# Events update

Suchith attended the UKUUG Unconference at Birmingham and presented about OSGeo
Saber gave presentation at Sussex Linux User Group

University of Newcastle workshop on Open Source GIS on 25th November 2010 
Action (All): To promote the event widely as possible

# Marketing update

Jo updated that Mike Saunt's designer is sorting out the banner and the logo, and expecting them to arrive asap. 

# Research and academic  update:

Suchith updated about excellent response for the internships for Open Source Geospatial Lab at the CGS, University of Nottingham. Working to have the first batch of interns join by next month. The lab will build up the profile of OSGeo activities in the UK and provide opportunities for students to work on various open source GIS projects. Also working actively in promoting OSGeo at all academic events and networks.

Suchith to give presentation on current Open Source geospatial research and OSGeo at Open Source Health Informatics conference organised by Open Source specialist Group of British Computer Society. http://ossg.bcs.org/2010/07/30/open-source-health-informatics-conference-london-271010/
