Dear uk-osgeo people,
It's now 56 days on the countdown to FOSS4G in Nottingham. Great to
see people volunteering, but now we have a new thing for you to do.
Pledge.
No money is required - just go to:
http://2013.foss4g.org/conf/pledge/
and make your pledge for open source geospatial in the next year. You
don't have to be going to FOSS4G, just tell us how you plan to support
any aspect of open source geospatial in the next 12 months or so.
Check out the current pledges made by the organising committee for
inspiration.
Pledges can be anonymous, but if you leave a contact you will be
eligible for the 'best pledge' award at FOSS4G.
All pledges are checked before publication, so don't try any blatant
advertising!
I'm giving the UK list a week head start on this before I post it to
OSGeo-discuss and link it in on the web site - although it will
probably leak onto twitter and I know the list archives are public!
This is to give the UK members a chance to pledge and collect a few
'likes' that might count towards the prize.
So show your support for OSGeo globally by pledging on the site!
Barry
PS Anyone caught helping Ant break his pledge to not overdo the beer
may be evicted from the conference centre...
PPS If anyone can help with CSS and JS, we might get a bit more
browser compatibility going - currently its reported fine with IE10
but a bit ropey with IE9... Email me if you think you can help!
