Dear OSGeo:UK list,
On June 14th to 16th this year, OSGeo:UK will be bringing together open
source GIS users (current and potential), developers, and supporters from
the UK and beyond for two days of conferencing and a day's hackathon at the
Ordnance Survey offices in Southampton. There will be presentations,
workshops, un-conference sessions, code sprints and plenty of socialising
too. You'll find all the current details at
http://uk.osgeo.org/foss4guk2016/.
At this stage we invite you to:
- Mark the date in your calendar, and plan to be there if you possibly
can
- Submit a proposal for a presentation (30 mins), workshop (2 hrs - 1
day), discussion or any other activity you would like to happen - use this
form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/13wSDVU-EaUumNxypVJ5Jgc0qKFDdGrXTxynHkSIcfDo/viewform>
to
do this by 30th April
- Spread the word using the usual channels (or even unusual ones)
- Keep an eye out for more news
It's been a few years now since we had an event like this in the UK, so
this will be a chance to find out what the open source GIS world has to
offer, catch up with the latest developments in your favourite tools, tell
everyone how you are using them, and find out what's new - and of course
warm up for FOSS4G 2016 <http://2016.foss4g.org/home.html> in Bonn in
August.
We're really looking forward to getting together - registration will be
open soon, but in the meantime please get proposals in as soon as you can
so we can start to put the programme together.
Antony Scott
