Thanks, Jo. It probably needs a little polish, so give me a shout if you want a hand.

Hi Tom,

I'll do a scan and sanity-check and submit from the OSGeo:UK account.

Deadline is only a day or two away. What needs doing before we are happy to submit?

Thanks

Hello all

Thanks for setting this up, Jo.

I’ve had a sketchy initial stab at some of this, as have others. I thought my words would be distinguishable thanks to Google Docs, but perhaps not, and perhaps it’s good to contribute without always explicitly flagging one’s own content, so it can be evaluated on merit.

There are still several completely unanswered questions, and no question has anything like a comprehensive answer yet.

Thanks

Tom

Hi All,

Finally, here's the link to the google document for our OSGeo:UK questionnaire response. I've included handy links to the various files, and added the page reference to the main pdf to each question. What I haven't done is actually start adding in any responses yet!

I'll set a deadline of the 17th October for any responses, which gives me time to sanity-check the document before sending it off.

Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qJ9L4hVL3QIx63I1Tt1ycIx_zwajWMMPGErJvhiyJ9Q/edit?usp=sharing

Hi All,

An update on this. I began putting together a google document with the questions in from the questionnaire, and began linking the questions to the appropriate page in the call for evidence document, only to find that the two don't actually match! I'll see if there's any way I can feed this information back to them and publish the link to the google document here asap.

Regards

Jo

Great, I'll start a document and figure out a sane way to share it to everyone without getting spammed.

Please share this idea with other communities or groups- the more the merrier as far as I am concerned.

Hi all,
I'm not sure we can be of much assistance on this, given our use of GIS is probably more niche and not covering what I think the Gov request is after, but am happy to add our two-penny's worth.

Hi Jo,

Certainly I am a man of many hats, but would be interested in helping put together a group response from an open source perspective.

Hi James,

Many thanks for raising this. I assume that many people on this list will be have a number of different perspectives and will be contributing wearing many different hats. I'm wondering if we (as the OSGeo:UK chapter) should consider a joint response to this from an open source perspective. I think we could make a worthwhile contribution, but it's a lot of work for one person. If I set up a shared google document for people to contribute, would that be a good idea?

Note this is one of those requests where you need to respond for me to do anything. If I don't hear back from anyone I'll assume no one is interested and won't take it forward...

All the best

Jo
