[OSGeo-UK] Setting up remote access to Postgres in OSGeo Live

Hi,

I’ve been trying to set up a mapping server using OSGeo Live 16, and I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask for help, but seeing as I’ve been on the UK list for a while, I hope it might be…

I’ve got remote access working at the moment via DuckDNS (only with http, I know…), but even after trying to sort the firewall, I only have ssh and access to Geoserver. I can’t get into postgres as I can’t get into phppgadmin or into the database from QGIS, even though post 5432 is open on the firewall and my router’s port forwarding.

I tried following a tutorial, and had to adjust the directories it was looking for to match those that are in the setup of postgres on the OSGeo Live installation. Even so, it doesn’t look like Apache is behaving in the way the tutorials assume, so I am stuck…

I wonder if there is anyone who can talk me through how to open access to the components in OSGeo Live, as there doesn’t seem to be sufficient information in the Live docs.

Thanks
