We are planning an OGC UK and Ireland Forum meeting on the 6th June 2025 from 13:00 to 16:00 PM at Geovation in London, including a panel session called “Developing Software using Geospatial Standards – Needs, Gaps, and Opportunities”. Would OSGeo:UK be interested in proposing a panel member? I’ll circulate the registration details closer to the time.

Best Wishes, Sam

Hey Nick,
I would love to attend AGI on behalf of OSGeo:UK. I would also recommend connecting with "GeoVation"<https://geovation.uk/> , if anybody has any existing connections in the community that'll be great.

Hey everyone,

Just to follow this up, we (OSGeo:UK) and the AGI have agreed to trial in-kind sponsorship of each others events for the next 12 months. This means we will get promotion at any AGI events we are interested in, and AGI will be a community sponsor for FOSS4G:UK.

There are a number of AGI events coming up:

The Geospatial Awards which will take place at GeoBusiness.

GeoCom 2025 which is in November at the RGS in London. This includes presentation of AGI's Foresight report.

EO Network - either early May and/or late October, dates TBC.

A Housing focused event which is new, due to take place about every 6 months

If you're interested in going to any of these on behalf of OSGeo:UK, just let me know. If you have any other ideas for interaction with the AGI, or any other UK geo organisations, please do let us know.

Best wishes,
Nick.

Hey folks,

Today myself and Nick Bearman had a call with Simon Nigh who has just come on as director of the AGI (https://www.agi.org.uk/). We spoke about possible collaboration opportunities between the two organisations as there is probably a good level of symbiosis there. The summary notes of the meeting were:

* Keen to work together in promoting each others events and Call for Speakers
* Potential to discuss sponsoring each others events or in-kind sponsorship
* Would like to keep a discussion open on other opportunities that arise into the future

One thing to point out in relation to the firsts bullet point is GeoCom is happening on the 27th of February in Edinburgh, which may be of some interest to people on the mailing list. Here is the link: https://www.agi.org.uk/geocom-agi-scotland-2025/

Any questions just let me know.

All the best,

James
