Unfortunately we do not have the capability to run this as a hybrid meeting. If you are unable to attend in person, we invite you to submit any comments before the meeting to osgeouk at gmail.com, and I am also happy to meet with you beforehand. We have an agenda on the website and also listed below. We envisage membership of OSGeo:UK as being a way of showing your involvement with and support for open source geospatial software in the UK. Membership is free, and being a member enables you to vote for the committee. A key item on the agenda is a proposed change to the constitution in relation to membership. Following on from discussions about how we define membership last year, and the need to move on from using the mailing list to having a dedicated membership list, these changes are proposed to the constitution: Membership (a) - (e): New text clarifying membership is open to individuals, and members have a voting right. The committee can approve or reject membership, in accordance with the aims of OSGeo:UK. The committee shall maintain a list of members, and inactive members will be removed. To vote at an AGM, individuals must be a member 28 days before the date of the AGM. There are a number of other stylistic changes, but no other substantive changes. The draft (with track changes) is available at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ScVWKMjXgbDMWWOWiV4CcmCYVCKSGHolSBc0Dzg8Sg8/edit?tab=t.0. The current constitution is at https://uk.osgeo.org/files/OSGeoUKConstitution-2025_signed_NB_AS_JS.pdf. We will also be electing a new secretary and committee members - more details on this to follow! If you have any questions, or would like more information, please do reach out to us - either osgeouk at gmail.com or nick at nickbearman.com. Best wishes, Nick. Message-ID: <3be5ffed-f4f2-4122-a566-7f6356af3a38@nickbearman.com> Hi Folks, We have now opened nominations for Secretary and 2 committee members for the OSGeo:UK committee. We want you to be involved in promoting Open Source Geospatial software in the UK and direct what OSGeo:UK should be doing over the next three years. The Secretary monitors the OSGeo:UK email account, and takes notes for the AGM and committee meetings. Committee members will help the wider committee with their work in any way they wish to. We do need a committee member to take on the role of looking after the newsletter, currently done by Alastair Graham. Full support and training will be given! We specifically encourage nominations from groups under represented in geospatial. These roles have a term of 3 years, and you can stand for as many terms as you like. To nominate yourself, please email osgeouk at gmail.com saying which position (Secretary or committee member or both) you would like to nominate yourself for by Monday 12th October (before the AGM at 3:45pm). Nominations can also be done in person at the AGM, and if necessary a vote will be conducted at the AGM. Any questions, please do email osgeouk at gmail.com and ask. Best wishes, Nick. -- Nick Bearman | OSGeo:UK Chair GIS Trainer & Consultant | nickbearman.com +44 (0) 7717745715 |nick at nickbearman.com Normal working days: Mon - Thu Next scheduled out of office: Mon 21st - Fri 25th Sept Please let me know if I can make any adjustments related to disability or neurodivergence to improve how we interact.
