A sanity-check on this? I added this article to cvs - based on
Arnulf's writeup - but haven't added it to the news_archive.html page
(so it will appear linked from anywhere) yet.

I think it could use a screenshot / image to liven it up. Arnulf is
there anything you would prefer, or should i just pick something at
random from http://www.mapbender.org/index.php/Mapbender_Gallery

For a summary, how about this based on Frank's:

Mapbender becomes first approved OSGeo project

Congratulations to all the contributors to Mapbender, which has become
the first project to emerge from OSGeo's rigorous "incubation" process
and become an official OSGeo project.
This is the culmination of several months of activity, including a detailed
review of software origins and licenses, community function and governance and
software development methodologies. With Mapbender's adoption by the OSGeo
board, the chair of the Mapbender Product Steering Committee, Uli
Rothstein, becomes OSGeo Vice-President - Mapbender.

Read more about Mapbender and the incubation process...

Apologies that this is all going a bit slowly; but i want to be able
to get it right as possible. Project permissions and everything all are
working fine. I still, you know, this is a really suboptimal
environment for content production - no previews, no workflow, etc -
but you know how i feel about that already ;) and i should be putting
together a proposal for a better 'solution', huh?
