Some time ago only legal entities were able to register a .es domain,
but at this time is perfectly possible to register any .es for any
individual without giving any more information.

So, I don't see any problem to have an osgeo.es domain pointing to...
well I don't know :D

But, what about subdomains, I think I prefer something like
spanish.osgeo.org rather than osgeo.es because our LC is language, not
geographically oriented so I think it makes more sense to me (in Spain
we are quite sensitive about languages and geographic bounds).

And a curiosity, in Spain now we can register domains with non ASCII
characters. For example: españa.es, fútbol.es and so on... (WTF?)
