No kidding.
I don't think that we can afford to go down the path that they have; we
need a CMS so that we can get translations and content into the system
without having to know PHP or html. I'd rather live with some
limitations of the CMS, than pay for flexibility with ongoing
complexity.

Thought I would check out how eclipse.org is put together (as an example
straightforward website), they have their source code (seems to be a
pile of PHP, which is amusing for a java
project) :-)
