Subject: [OSGeo-Board] Members, roles, contacts

Hi,
I wonder how to contact people registered with OSGeo. For example people

requesting for roles in projects / committees. All that one can see is a

login name. So on what criteria should a committee decide whether the
requester is good for the role that he applies for or not?

This morning OSGeo told me that we have two pending roles:
* Pending roles in project visibilitycommittee (1)
* Pending roles in project mapbender (1)

Sometimes there is a real name, sometimes not. Ideally we could just hit

a <mailto:> button and talk a little to the person before actually
hitting "Approve" or make people join the corresponding mailing list
before they can request for a role.

Currently all I can do is directly "Approve Defer Disapprove" the only
"contact" being to disapprove and state why in the "Reason for role
disapproval".

So currently I would have to include my personal email address in the
disapproval text field and ask the requester to give some reasons as to
why she is requesting. But then the whole concept for requesting by
hitting a button is useless.

It would help if the requestress could (or is even required to) enter a
few lines stating why she wants to request for a role. And then it would

be helpful to actually be able to contact that person.

Best regards,
Arnulf.
