1)
It might help people if you used this website when
specifying a date/time:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?year=2008&month=3&day=13&hour=10&min=0&sec=0
For FOSS4G2007, we used it any time we added a date/time
to a wiki page entry such as the scheduled time for the
next Workshop Committee meeting.

2)
I created a "FOSS4G2008 Announcements wiki page:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G2008_Announcements
I started with the text from your email, made a few
minor formatting edits, added Graeme's suggestion,
and then made my suggested changes. That way everyone
can make their edits easily, and it's easy to use
the wiki to see what suggestions people are making.

3)
Before making the Call for Workshops, the LOC needs
to finalize (i.e. you can't change it once it gets
announced!) the Discount schedule for Workshop/Lab
Instructors. See this page for what was done for 2007:
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/FOSS4G2007_Discounts
You may want to include those specifics either in the
Call, or on the webpage that provides the specifics
for how to submit a proposal. I'd suggest creating
a "FOSS4G2008_Discounts" wiki page, and just linking
to that page.

4)
Before the Call for Workshops is made, the
FOSS4G2008 Workshop Committee needs to:
- be created
- agree on the roles of the committee members
- create the "template documents" to be used by people
wanting to submit a Workshop/Lab proposal

5)
ASAP, Frank or Jeff needs to change the settings for
this mailing list so that replies go to the list,
not to the email's sender.
It will create no end of problems for the Workshop
Committee if Instructors start replying to emails
on this list, and those emails aren't seen by the
entire Workshop Committee, or even worse, go only
to another Instructor, and aren't seen at all by
the committee members.
