If you would like me to join the conference committee I am happy to serve. I could do with a few weeks of low activity to catch up on some of the stuff that pays the bills and to have a short holiday, so could I join from November onwards?

I'd imagine the chair's job to be relatively light but it would include ensuring that RFPs get issued, that the decision process proceeds in an orderly way, that the long terms documents on how to run the conference are updated, and that the committee is renewed.
