[FOSS4G-Oceania] MOTION: ratify governance doc as Terms of Reference for a new committee

Hey all

I had interpreted the motion as ‘tidy up any loose ends’ (finalise) the
document and then ratify it. But do any tidying quickly.

Happy to have all my comments saved for iteration 2 - mainly around
trusting future LOCs to do the right thing and put a small wall of
invitation to meddle between the Board and the LOC - while retaining the
line of responsibility.

re. ‘Board vs something else’ - I thought we’d covered that at the meeting
Friday and arrived at Board. Agree with Daniel here, let’s let it lie.

re. spending - that can also be kicked down the road.

On a meta-admin front - can I ask we all make a tiny change to how we
address documents: If we think something could be different, please provide
a suggestion the alternative. I have historically been awful at doing that,
but I will endeavour to always do so now.

In that spirit I’ve just closed all my comments on the ToR document, made a
duplicate and named it ‘iteration DRAFT’, then put it into a folder called
’ToR working drafts’. We can comment like made on that, iterating toward
v2.0 (by the way, if that is all to unilateral, feel free to undo it)

…so we can go ahead and ratify the current doc, and keep the new copy alive
with ideas.

Perhaps an early task of FOSS4G Oceania will be to host a gitlab someplace
for these docs…

Cheers
