After some debugging I found out that the Microsoft Access ODBC driver does not support the SQLPrimaryKeys function which is used to determine the primary key.

[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function

So, anyway, time to convince some people to switch to a decent database .....
