Hi Jason
personally I would leave to GDAL the most basic functionality.
Pretty sure that after it there will be many tools, including Desktop
GIS, giving that feature (batch processing).

Btw, Ari, really cool stuff, looking forward to it, thanks for the
great effort ;)
