Hi,

https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/pull/9300 has been updated with the actual 
changes from the candidate implementation now available in 
https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/pull/9378

If there are no further remarks on the RFC in the following days, I will 
submit it for adoption.
