Hi Sanghee,

Thank you for your kind support and it is really happy for us to know that the Seoul team will be contributing for the Student Awards at FOSS4G Seoul conference. This is really great news and i suggest that LOC can  start putting the student competitions out. I am also ccing our colleagues, so they can start giving you ideas/suggestions on the student competitions planned. For example, for the best three Student entries for the Map Gallery http://2015.foss4g.org/programme/map-gallery/

Thanks also to GeoCat support for Student Competition prizes at FOSS4G 2015 (€1500 in total  to be split into  €  1000 first prize and € 500 second prize). Jeroen's (cc in) idea for this competition is  targeting  “practical” software development related work in/with a (preferably) OSGeo project and he is open to discuss the details. So let us wait for his suggestions.

Once OSGeo Board approves the "Geo for All" Student Award Initiative, we will be also able to support 1000 USD for any of the student competitions Seoul LOC wish to organise. I am sure with other sponsors (like GeoCat) joining, we all can work to make  strong support for Student Awards at FOSS4G 2015. 

Unfortunately though i won't be able to attend FOSS4G Seoul Conference, it will be great help if you can allocate 15 minutes somewhere in the conference schedule for "Geo for All" presentation.  Jeff as OSGeo President should be attending the conference and i will send him the slides etc and request him to present on our behalf. It will be a great opportunity to spread the ideas and expand this in Asia.

Thanks again for you and the whole Seoul LOC's hardwork and i am sure all your efforts will be greatly appreciated by all our global colleagues.

Most of all I really appreciate your passionate efforts around Geo for All initiatives and FOSS4G Students Award.

First, I’ve been following up the discussions about FOSS4G Students Awards and I feel that Seoul team should do something for this, since FOSS4G Seoul conference is the main international FOSS4G. I’m very pleased to let you know that Seoul team will contribute another USD1,000~1,500 for the Students Awards at FOSS4G Seoul conference in addition to initial amounts.

Second, I am just curious about whether you will attend FOSS4G Seoul conference this September. I think your presence could play a key role in expanding Geo for All initiatives in/around Korea/Asia. That’s why I’m asking.
