[Geomoose-users] Authentication in GM 2.6?

Yes, we do have LDAP. Also, I think it will be necessary to get the username from Apache. I've tried the $_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_USER'], but it doesn't seem to work.

Can you point to any documentation on the Apache authentication modules?

The easy thing to do is use one of the authentication/authorization modules that comes with apache. Also, keep in mind that generally you should run authenticated services over https instead of http. What you end up doing depends on how many users you expect and if you already have authentication infrastructure (e.g. LDAP).

I did a little searching on this, but not sure where to start. I will be building an application in the near future which will require restricted access. Can anyone offer advice or point me to reference sources?
