Hello Simone,
Thanks for the insight!
I took a look at demo.geonode.org<http://demo.geonode.org> and set it like you. The service is recognized, but it definitly should not be empty!
3782 Datasets are listed at http://geoportal.geodaten.niedersachsen.de and if a harvest that service through GeoNetwork I get every one of them listed. Why does that not work for GeoNode?

Hi, the configuration in the settings that you did is not to register a remote service but is to use geonetwork as default catalogue instead of pycsw. GeoNode will treat it as a metadata catalogue and not as a data repository, the data are in postgis + geoserver.
In any case there is no need to put it in the allowed hosts.
If you want to register a remote service the you need to add only the csw backend http://geoportal.geodaten.niedersachsen.de/harvest/srv/ger/csw which works on demo.geonode.org<http://demo.geonode.org> although is empty.
