[geos-devel] speed difference between release and debug builds

I've noticed some large performance differences between debug and release 
builds using VC 8.0 when stl containers are used (not specifically with 
geos, but in general).  I believe iterator debugging is enabled by default 
in debug builds.  See

You might try turning this off and see what effect it has.
