One more: Running the old aggregate union also fails,

aggtest=# select geometrytype(st_union_old(the_geom)) from tm_world;
NOTICE: TopologyException: found non-noded intersection between
-89.142 17.8189, -89.142 17.8189 and -89.142 17.8189, -89.142 17.8189
-89.142 17.8189
ERROR: GEOS union() threw an error!

But with a topology error in a different location. But, like the new
union, you can't re-produce the error by running standard union on the
pair of geometries at that location.
