[GRASS5] compiling 5.0beta8 on IRIX

Hi developers,

last weekend i tried to compile the forthcoming 5.0beta8 version on IRIX
6.2 with the egcs compiler. 

To make a long story short, the autoconf system as it is now does not
work with my setup because IRIX has two resp. three different
application binary interfaces (o32, n32 and n64) which need to be linked
against different libraries. The default libaries in */lib/ are in the
o32 format, which is not supported by egcs.

Could please the developer of the new autoconf system contact me so that
we can develop something that is working, at least with the majority of
IRIX systems?
